Interlibrary Loan FAQs
How can I contact the Interlibrary Loan department?
Who can use this service?
What items can I request?
How much does this service cost?
That depends. VCPL tries to borrow from libraries that do not charge us. We can usually obtain books for free, but most libraries charge between $5-$10 for photocopy requests. You are responsible for all charges levied by the lending library. You pay for your items when you pick them up.
How do I place a request?
You can place a request in person at any Library location, or you can call 812.232.1113. We also accept e-mail and web requests via WorldCat. Be sure to give us your name, address, library card number, phone number, a full citation, and the dollar amount you would be willing to pay for your item(s). Please note: incomplete requests cannot be processed.
How long can I keep the material?
Can I renew an item I've borrowed?
What if I'm late returning an item, or it is lost or stolen?
