Vote Vigo
Registration to vote in the Primary Election begins Friday, December 1, 2023 and ends Monday, April 8, 2024.
Primary Election Day is Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
Vote Vigo is a non-partisan initiative of the Vigo County Public Library which makes it easier for Vigo County residents to stay informed about upcoming elections. Follow us on Facebook for information about candidates, wait times at election centers, and other matters of public interest.
Check Your Registration Status
- Visit the Indiana Voter Portal.
- Under Check Voting Status, click Check Your Registration Record.
- Enter your name, date of birth, and the county where you are currently registered to vote.
- Click Submit.
My Information Is Not Found. What Next?
If you are not registered, or if there was a problem with the information you entered, you will see an error message.
Why Did This Happen?
- Did you register under a different name? First name, last name, and date of birth must match county records. If you have changed your information, you may need to Update Your Registration.
- Have you moved since you registered to vote? Try checking your registration status with your previous county of residence.

Update Registration
How to Update Your Registration
- To update your registration, you need:
- The name you registered under.
- Your Indiana State Driver’s License number or your Indiana State Identification Card.
- Visit the Indiana Voter Portal.
- Under Register to Vote, click Apply Now.
- Enter your information, using the name you previously registered under.
- Click Update Registration Info.
- Correct or update your information.
- Click Submit.
- You can also fill out a paper form and either mail it to or turn it into the Vigo County Registration Office.

How to Request Mail-In Ballot
- To request a mail-in ballot (also known as an absentee ballot):
- Review the requirements for obtaining a mail-in ballot at www.in.gov.
- Visit the Indiana Voter Portal.
- Select the ABS-Mail option and enter the required information.
- Download the PDF for the application.
- Absentee ballot applications are due Thursday, April 25, 2024 by 11:59 p.m.
- You may submit your application by mail, email, or fax; you may also hand-deliver your application to the Vigo County Voter Registration Office.
- A ballot packet will be mailed to you if your application is improved.
Mail-in ballots must be received by county election officials before 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
Early Voting
Find An Early Voting Center
Early voting centers open on Monday, April 9, 2024 at the Vigo County Annex. Find a complete list of voting centers and their availability at www.vigocounty.in.gov.
All early voting centers will close on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. A state-issued photo ID is required to vote.
