Youth Services Manager

Job Overview

Are you a forward-thinking librarian manager who loves working with children? Are you seeking meaningful work in a supportive, fun environment?

Vigo County Public Library has a full-time non-exempt Management Team opening for the position of Youth Services Manager. The Youth Services Manager is responsible for the overall management and development of the Youth Services Team ensuring that youth customers experience quality library services and programs. This includes managing and supervising the department’s day-to-day operations and workflows; developing and implementing operational and strategic goals that support effectiveness of workflow and services; overseeing the creation and maintenance of documentation for department procedures and protocols; and actively participating in staff development to support and promote proficiencies. The Youth Services Manager participates in a system-wide management group to drive, implement, and support organizational initiatives, outcomes, and values. Provides departmental and system-wide leadership through professional management strategies, team-building, and collaborative efforts in support of the goals and objectives of the VCPL.

West Branch Manager

Job Overview

Vigo County Public Library has a full-time non-exempt Management Team opening for the position of West Branch Manager. The West Branch Manager is responsible for the overall management and development of the branch library and staff ensuring that customers experience quality library services, and that staff are prepared to deliver such service. This includes managing and supervising day-to-day branch operations; ensuring that the facility and premises are a properly maintained and welcoming environment; developing and implementing branch operational and strategic goals; ensuring documentation for branch procedures and protocols is current and accurate; and actively participating in staff development to support and promote proficiencies. The West Branch Manager also oversees and participates in the development and implementation of programs and events that cultivate interest within the community and, as the representative for VCPL in the branch community, build community relationships that promote awareness of library services and foster collaboration. Branch Managers provide branch and system-wide leadership through professional management strategies, team building, and collaborative efforts in support of the goals and objectives of the VCPL.

Tech Team Manager

Vigo County Public Library has a full-time non-exempt Management Team opening for the position of Tech Team Manager. The Tech Team Manager is responsible for managing and supervising the department’s day-to-day operations and overseeing the creation and maintenance of documentation for department procedures, protocols, and technical support resources. The Tech Team Manager develops and implements operational and strategic goals that support the delivery of high-quality technology services and programming and actively participates in the cultivation of staff technology skills with exposure to current and emerging technologies that create new service and programming opportunities. The Tech Team Manager provides departmental and system-wide leadership through professional management strategies, team-building, and collaborative efforts in support of the goals and objectives of the VCPL.
